i think a song can mean so different in different situations of your life, so you can never really think that one song got one constant meaning. i am feeling this song very differently today than what i did before. i feel like its obviously about a lost relationship.. which is not working for some reason.. the girl told him to go away.. and she's not sure.. but the guy knows it wont work.. so he thinks its better to go away.. An' it ain't no use in turnin' on your light, babe *I'm on the dark side of the road* But I wish there was somethin' you would do or say To try and make me change my mind and stay and somehow the guy is not in the proper place to tell her that he loves her so much. anyway! bend the meaning as it suits your life, thats what makes a song truly beautiful.. |
