This song is DEFINITELY about his son. I'm guessing he got inspired while looking at his son through his rearview mirror. his son was problably looking out the window. he feels like his son is growing up.. since jack most likely LOVES his son with all his heart, it's difficult for him to see the child grow up.....but he's giving him enough space by letting him "go on". at least i think so |
