I totally thought of just an old romance, like Mraz and his former wife. It seems he was with someone that inspired him and encouraged him throughout some time period of his life. He is certainly singing about a magical romance and him reminiscing about it and saying that it was a fairy-tale type of love. I guess they both could have loved each other for a long time. When I read this I thought about my old high school love. It was so complicated and it wasnt like this song because the feelings I had for the guy never amounted to anything and I truly regret that b/c I feel like it could have been what Jason is singing about. "If you could see me now love love. oh you and I you and I not so little you and I anymore...." Ya it's sad. This was true love for him and it seems like on a really intellectual level because he sings about talking and silence with the certain someone. Can sum1 comment bak on this comment plz? I wanna hear your feedback :) |

I've read that Mraz wrote this song for Tristan Prettyman and it's a little obvious, " your rich brown eyes, your lips and your dark hair." She has all of those physical characterisitics. I think it's cool that Mraz writes so easily about the hapennings in his life, but he writes with a lot of care and he even says " I contradict myself" He seems to take a lot of time and thought into his words. With him the tune is not likely to be the important part of the song. For me his words and voice are enough for a great song, but when words and the melody both are great in his songs the outcome is magic. |

| I dont know if this song was made while Mraz was dating Tristan Prettyman but I'm pretty sure that was his second love and this song might be about her. I think this song is about him finding the kind of love he most identifies with. This song conveys some sort of relief, like "Finally. shes mine...the girl whom I only once imagined and dreamed about having." | |
