well i personally think that this is about a fisherman who wants to be in a marching band but everyone in the marching band wants to be a vicar the end i think i'm dead good at analysing songs, personally. |

| plantlife- you're thinking of the song boats and birds, not yellow birds and coalmines. | |
| Natalie Merchant – My Skin Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| i suppose you can see anything you want in a song like this, but in my view, it's about anorexia. don't tell me i'm wrong because it's just an opinion- i just think that it's fits. | |

oh man, from listening to the song, i never really thought of it, but seeing the lyrics written here make it seem a whole lot more sexual than i perceived it as (: "What made you an alley cat scratching me? You dig deep with your nails and flash your teeth And run off to where your next big meal could be What made you an alley cat scratching me? You dig deep with your nails and flash your teeth And run off because you must be tired of me Run off because you must be tired of me" |

this is beautiful, and i'm not even joking. i guess it's just about a friendship falling apart. it's pretty obvious. if there's anything deeper, i'd love to know. |

| Regina Spektor – Braille Lyrics | 18 years ago |

the last verse of this song makes me shiver. i know it's been said, but yeah, teenage pregnancy and the tribulations of it. i don't think that the raining outside of the windows is literal, more like, her life suddenly became full of empty hopes that would be shattered, and a black cloud set over her, like in a sudden downpour. |
