Relient K – The Best Thing Lyrics 17 years ago
There's no way this sound is about God.

First off: 'Cause when I looked into your eyes and you dared to stare right back
You should have said, "Nice to meet you, I'm your other half"

That would never happen.

Secondly: To make your life as good as you've made mine
Yeah...right.

It's just about a girl that means a lot to him.

Feist – Intuition Lyrics 17 years ago
Alright, I'm going to go over this stanza by stanza.

(What gives, what helps/The Intuition/I'll know, I'll know/(Oh) I won't have to be shown/The way home/And it's not about a boy/Although, although) Alright, she says it's not about a boy, but it obviously is. She thinks her intuition will lead her home or keep her safe.

(They can lead you/Hide or reveal too) I don't know if I have a different version, but these lyrics are mostly correct. Anyway, for this part, I think that she has fallen for this boy and parts of her that she has kept secret has been revealed by her trust for him.

(A destination known/Only by the one/Whose fate is overgrown/Piecemeal could break your home/In half/A love is not complete/With only heat) Personally, this whole stanza here signifies what she knows will be the end of her relationship with this boy. She might have some kind of secret that she's going to tell him. Piecemeal means piece by piece, so her "home" which can be an allusion to herself is being broken in half. The "heat" is an allusion to sex. Love isn't lust. And lust doesn't hold a relationship together.

(They can tease you/Break or complete you) Self explanatory.

(And in came a heatwave/A merciful save/You choose, you chose/Poetry over prose) This signifies to me another woman in the picture, maybe someone the boy is seeing as well. He chooses the other woman over her. Poetry over prose. In English, poetry is more broken up, in pieces, in stanzas, the rhythm doesn't always flow, but it can. Prose is more complex, it's a story, it's smooth, and it flows.

(A map is more unreal/(Oh) Than where you've been/Or how you feel/And it's impossible to tell/How important something was/And what you might have missed out on/And how it might have changed it all) This is the stanza where I think she is referring to herself in third person. Her journeys with him have been indescribable, she can't explain how she felt with him, or what she's missed out on. This is the part where I think she might be doubting her intuition, because she not longer has the boy.

The Psychedelic Furs – The Ghost In You Lyrics 17 years ago
I'm just going on a whim here, but I think it's about a girl he used to love, she might be dead or alive, and the thought of her won't "fade."

The race might be time trying to take those feelings away from him but he'll always be "on her side."

Those supermen could be other men trying to woo her away and just getting in the way.

Anyway, those are my thoughts. Amazing song by the Furs. Love their stuff.
