Amity Dry was on a television show called "the block" a little while ago and this song was written about her father passing. it means alot to me as i have had a friend pass. and one of my other friends sung it to a goup of us about her one day and it was one of the most beautiful things i have ever heard. it really is exactly how i feel. everytime i think of my friend i think of this song. the lyrics are beautiful and the metaphors are really symbolic. amity dry is a real poet and i really love this song xx |

okay this song is open to interpretation. but this is what i think. main points: a guy is in love with this girl. they had a 'thing'. she was depressed. he drunk alot. on sunday he was drunk and she probably talked about killing herself. then he is thinking back to sunday and slowly remembering what she said. she had killed herself. then when he put it all together and figured it out. it rained. then the clouds followed him while he was looking for her. showing that she was with him the whole time. she went 'home' which shows that she had wanted to kill herself for a long time and did.. that is why she calls it home. he realises how much he loves her and how he cant live with out her. and he kills himself to.. that is why he is going home cause he feels there is nothing left for him here. he felt like he couldnt have her but he tired anyway. she loved him too but didnt know how to cope and trying to get over him. hence the present tense of "washing" and also the "whereever she may be" she is scared of what she has done. and wants him just to be close. but yeah.. even if she hasnt its very metaphoric and meaningful i give you snaps atl. =) xx x |
