| did anyone the interview with chris martin in rolling stone? the line is actually "and the FOX became god", and it's apparently about fox news and how the media corrupts information. i have trouble interpreting the lyrics that way, but chris said it himself so i guess that's how we have to take it. | |

he did a show at murray state university last month and he played this w/o any prompting from us. he was more than an hour late because he got lost on the way here, and he went on for a few lines about how murray is in the middle of nowhere. he also said: "we got lots of people learnin lots of shit, readin lots of books, we don't care what the fuck you think in the rest of the world cuz we're murray state" "don't know if we're the south or if we're the midwest, ya'll. we know that we're not the northeast, tho." "there'll be no beer at the BP station." (murray is in a dry county) it was hilarious. i loved the show -- one of the best iv'e ever seen. |

i've totally been in this position before. she's in a relationship and she's unhappy, but on the outside everything looks fine, and the other person doesn't understand why she's not satisfied. she doesn't even understand why she's not satisfied, so she's constantly worrying about it and trying to talk to them about it and just making the problem worse. she doesn't know what she wants ("sometimes even i have no idea what i need"), so she doesn't know how to tell this person what she needs from them. she just knows she's unhappy and she doesn't know why. so she keeps trying to tell herself that everything is okay when she knows it's really not. then she gets angry and frustrated when the real relationship doesn't match up to the way she thinks it should be. |

i've always argued that i hate courtney as a person, especially post-kurt's death and the way she's handled the estate, but i really like and respect her as a musician. i can see why kurt was attracted to her -- she's a great songwriter and she has a powerful voice. i just think she's a bitch and a drug addict. anyway, this is quite possibly my favorite track off of "live through this" -- the vocals are incredibly powerful. and i think it probably was written about frances, though i don't believe she was any better equipped to take care of the baby than kurt was -- they were both pretty lost at the time. |
