I'm pretty sure that verse is saying...
"As I listen to you play your tambourine, I am trying to contribute lyrically. I may not have a complete thought or verse planned out, but I am trying. Don't pay any attention to me and my "skipping reels of rhyme" because I am just a "ragged clown" behind you singing along to the song in my head that you are playing part of. |

If this is actually how it happened I have a tremendous amount of respect for him for just having the ability to sing this at all. |

This song seems to point out that our beliefs have no bearing on what actually happens in the end and no matter how you interpret whatever book you live by, once your life is over, your beliefs were only your beliefs and that is all.
Is anyone else getting that from this song? |

It is kind of bittersweet to close such an unexpectedly uplifting album on such a down note...lyrically speaking, the song still kicks ass. It gives the feeling of sitting in a dimly lit room pessimistically reflecting on past momentary pleasure. |

The main focus of this song does not seem to be about drugs but about being alone, although I think the drugs come as a result of it. It seems like he is saying that the friends he had who he thought would always be there are nowhere to be found but he would rather have no friends than mere convenient friends (who are only there when it is convenient for them) hence "this was a choice this was never a mistake" I think is referring to being virtually friendless and alone a lot of the time. If you watch the video for it, it may give you the same idea. |

"I can never lose you" is what I hear but judging the nature of Jesses songs it is probably "I could never live with it" |

I can't believe no one read these lyrics and didn't realize that he is talking about God. The suburban man is God, he wants control over the way he lives. "It's all for you" is him recognizing that his life is for God although he doesn't seem too happy about it in this song.
Thats the vibe that I get |

| Weezer – My Name Is Jonas Lyrics

this song is in direct relation to the story of rip van winkle. If anyone has ever heard the extended version of the story, you would find that there was more to rip van winkle than a man who slept for 20 years. He had vivid lucid dreams while his he was asleep, many of which they reference in this song. Jonas was a boy whose adolescent angst drove him to be a serial killer due to his hate for humanity that came as an effect to the depressions of growing up. Whepel (which they spelled wrong here) was another character in the rip van winkle lucid dream series who was constantly reliving the same two most exciting days of his life. He represents a yearning for the past. Wheezer is poetically genius for never mentioning this true underlying meaning to their songs. |

I can not listen to this song without the hair on the back of my neck standing up. The emotion that can be heard in this song is unparallel to any other song ever written, and can only be the work of in my opinion, the greatest vocabulary artist ever to portray feelings through pen and paper. Jesse Lacey is the DiVinci of our time. The Bible references that rare listeners pick up on show Lacey's subtle Christian beliefs....or doubts, knowledge of the beliefs however. |
