Kimya Dawson – My Rollercoaster Lyrics 18 years ago
one thing that I love about kimya Dawson is all the nintendo references. I am from the nintendo generation and I don't know of any other songmakers that sing about my childhood memories quite like kimya. This song mentions the secret warp pipe at the end of level two in super mario brothers. The song France mentions monkey ball 2 and anyone else but you( which is actually "moldy peaches") has "up up down down left right left right b a start", the unlimited lives cheat from contra! These are more than pop culture references, they are cherished childhood memories for kids my age. Kudos kimya!

Kimya Dawson – 5 Years Lyrics 18 years ago
this song is also about growing up and the struggle with addiction. Kimya is finally ready to give up on rock and roll bad boys and negative influences and enablers. Sometimes chosing sobriety means saying goodbye to your drinking buddies and this song is saying that after five years of sobriety she has to give up the rock and roll life, grow up and start dating a hanson.

I think the next part of the song is that all penises are about the same anyways so what's the difference but I am not sure. I am pretty sure that the line is actually " every THING I have ever seen." she's looking to her folk song idols for guidance.

Kimya Dawson – The Beer Lyrics 18 years ago
to me this song is describing kimya's addiction and her rock bottom moment. Then at the end she talks about a friend who broke his neck drunk driving and how she feels bad but she was also a crazy kid as well. I think thats why she said at the concert that she doesn't drink any more. The part that gets me is "silver pink pony." I imagined that this was an AA token but the only thing I could find is the red token. Maybe " silver pink pony" is some other trinket or memento that she uses as a symbol of her sobriety. Im going to see kimya this friday i would love to ask her.
