| Elastica – Connection Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I see the link with how this song could clearly be about a love connection, but to me its more about the sell out of being a music artist and how far people are willing to go and the passion some people have to make music in order to become famous. 'Another heart has made the trade' Insead of creating music for pasison and creativity there trading their true love of music in order to make contempory, money making stuff. Although now reading it through again, it dosen't just have to be about getting famous through music, maybe the person shes talking about is an attention seeker willing to 'ride on any wave' to gain attention and fame. I think it's a great song, very catchy and Elastica were underrated. |

I haven't actually heard this song so I dont no the tone of the piece, is it angry? sad?... But to me theres some links to the whole inequality of men and women. It sounds a bit femanistic to me, if thats even a word!? 'She's fighting a battle with no one on her side' No one questions the work of a house woman because its what has always been done in alot of places. But then again, Tracy may not be talking about a woman in the home, maybe shes talking about a crop worker - out in the fields 24/7... |

| Ani DiFranco – Angry Anymore Lyrics | 18 years ago |

This song is quite self explanatory, obviously growing up with her mother mainly, agreeing and understanding her mothers ways, but maturity and self awareness kicks in and she begins to relise that perhapes her fathers way of living isn't so bad after all and is probably living by a better philosophy. It's very easy to relate to this song, probably why it's one of my favourite Ani songs. |
