Someone earlier talked about the fact that in an interview Maynard said specifically that the entire album has to do with addiction. While Maynard's lyrics are intentionally multi-layered, I do think the songs on this album all have a clear drug addiction based meaning. But that's what makes Maynard's lyrics so amazing..the fact that one song can have several different meanings... |

im just kinda throwing this out there but it seems like it could be talking about God's love or for people's love for God. My main reason is the line "the cross you chose to bear alone" that line kinda gave me a new take on the song |
