I don't actually think this is about a relationship, necessarily. I think this song is, like most of AWITC, just about the state of the world in general. I think it's about the fast pace of the modern world, and the emotional iscolation it causes. People not taking time to nurture themselves (if your colours are starting to run, let them run), or their relationship with others. The breakdown of communication etc (we need to talk). I think when he says "We are in a state of flux" he means the world in general - not him and one other person. |

I love this song. I think it is a love song - it's about fighting with your lover - but at the end of the day it's just routine - it doesn't mean anything. They know eachother so well that it doesn't really matter "I think you know I'm about to throw the towel in". The lyrics are pretty ambiguous - (apparently based on a txt message from the guy from LCD Soundsystem?) |
