| Dragonette – Pick Up The Phone Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I love this song. I feel like for me its about finding someone who you relate to but maybe no one else agrees with the relationship so you decide to run away with them. Like I just imagine two kids falling in love and having to run away from their small town in the deep south because of hate against their being together..idk..but I love this song. it Touches the heart in nice way. | |

I can't stop thinking up a video for this song! (i love to do that with songs. lol) But it makes me feel really happy and fun, and almost a little nostalgic for some place that never existed. Funny how songs can do that to you, huh? |

| The Raveonettes – Last Dance Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This song is great. Sad, but great all the same. Love the Raveonettes! They are like the ultimate alterntive rock band, at least from what i've heard from them. Always a very mellow approach to sadness and happiness. very nice to listen to when you're on the plane or something like that =) | |

This song nearly made me cry. It made me think of all the boys, men, women, and people, devastated by war. Not just the soldiers, but also all the families, soldier's mothers and fathers. Brothers. Sisters. Cousins and the like. My heart goes out to them, and hopefully someday wars will stop and we will be able to smile over a peaceful earth. Great song! |

| Arcade Fire – Wake Up Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This song absolutely breaks my heart. It's like i've never heard anything like it. To me, it speaks about, like so many others said, a loss of innocence, and the feeling of looking back and realizing that the simplicity of how you viewed the world when you were that young is just a lie: you grow up and you learn about death and killings, and hear news about war, and dead soldiers, and terrorists, and typhoons wiping out villages and all that, and you have this hollow feeling, wanting to go back to being a kid, but knowing its imnpossible. The song is really nostalgic to me, and spiritual. Indeed, it makes me want to sing, and cry. | |

I love this song. I saw it yesterday in the movie "sommersturm", which was really good by the way... thi song is just so peaceful an harmonic there is no need for meaning to listen to it; it's just a dreamy, good song. |

This song is so beautiful. When i hear it i see it from a visual perspective, like a music video director would. I see a boy in a car on the highway in the prime of fall when the leaves at either side of the road are golden and red and glistening in the sun and I can see a screen shot with an old man in a red oriental robe or kimono, pointing down to where the camera turns and shows us the long winding highway and about a dozen speeding cars. All along you can see this enormous tension in the boy's face and inbetween shots of the leaves and hilly landscape you can see flashbacks in a sepia shade of him and his mom arguing. Then you can see his face get a little looser, almost about to break as we near the second chorus; then we see tears streaming down his face as he burst out screaming along with Brandon, "and pay this hell in me tonight", as the boy looks more furious than ever, turning up the volume wheel on his sterio ; At this point I can see Brandon, singing from the top of the hill (as we would have seen him in sporatic screenshots before) and he makes a fist arounf the sun while singing violent-faced and unleashes the sun in releif to find that it has changed into a moon and the camera goes back to the boy ; he looks scared like he sees something we can't see outside of his windshield. He violently hits the creaks and he all-of-a-sudden oesn't look so dare-devil anymore. Brandon starts singing the last bit in his calm, scared voice (I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many headlights.") and then we see the view out the boys windshield to reveal a traffic jam, all kids, teenagers, just like him, on that same road, stopped in traffic, trying to escape from what they left behind them so many miles back on that long road. And in the midst of all this traffic we see a truck with the wild curcus painting of a mary-go-round and a bunch of sad and happy clowns as the camera travels up to the end of the truck and fades in the trees that have lost all of their leaves at the side of the road. (" But it’s a long, long, long way down." END -Alexander Vazquez |
