| Vampire Weekend – I Stand Corrected Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| i guess it's about girl who is worrying much about him to be observing the etiquette and breeding. and he just wants to be himself so he acts as he wants to. And she always corrects his actions and words and he is very irritated with it. He wants her just to "forget the protocol" and to pay no attention to the conventionalities | |

| jbonanza's version makes sense. "you're too smart to remember" lyrics just confirms that she is lucky to move on. This is one my favourite lyrics ever! | |

I've found the correct version: I always had the voice and now I am a singer. The audience grows silent when I open up my mouth. I sing the words I’ve written every night before a crowd. As if I were a poet or some legendary mind. They wonder what I’m doing up there on the stage. They stare at my posture and say I speak so well. I sing about my loneliness and in return they thank me. I had never meant to be a singer. But I am slowly getting used to the idea. I am part of this whole movement that people come to see. They drive for seven hours from all across the country. We raise our voice in unison at the end of the show. People break into tears for reasons I don’t know. They just want to understand me and I sing to be loved. |

| The National – Slow Show Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| for me it's like when you start partying with whomever just to wash away the pain of some love affair and to get drunk, You hope you'd forget it but the more you drink the sadder you get. And you all these unfamiliar faces around you and you understand how stupid you are etc | |
| The National – Cardinal Song Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I guess lyrics "never look her in the eyes never tell the truth if she knows your paper you know she'll have to burn you never tell the one you want that you do save it for the deathbed when you know you kept her wanting you" tells that there is always the one "leader" in relationships" and the one who depends. like victim. And you should never tell the person how much do you love her not to become this one who is leaded |
