| ringo was on a boat trip of sorts one day and told the crew they would like to have 'fish & chips' for lunch. when the lunch was presented it was calamari which was not around in liverpool and he was unfamiliar with. he was smoking what he reffered to as a 'funny ciggerett' which he said helped inspire him to write this catchy tune. | |
