I just think it's a form of saying do what you want. By doing what you want, you're doing what is going to make you happy (naturally), and if it makes you happy what is so bad about that? I don't even think this song is hypocritical or insincere or any of that bullshit you guys are saying. Akon is indeed a "rapper" but he raps about important stuff. Like this song for example... is an apology (it's in the fuckkinng TITLE you guys, "SORRY"). "Even though the blame's on you I'll take that blame from you And you can put that blame on me" You think that's insincere? I think he's saying that "I'm sorry everyone's blaming things on you, but I'll take the blame instead." Cause even though it's not his fault (was the Club Zen incident really his fault? If that girl hadn't started it it wouldn't have happened) he'll take the blame anyway. "I'm sorry that it took so long to see They were dead wrong trying to put it on me I'm sorry that it took so long to speak.." You might think that's hypocritical. But he's just saying, that he's sorry anyway. Seriously you guys give him some credit. For what it's worth, I love this song, and it has some of my favorite lyrics ever in it. |

So like all of you have said, she wants to grow up and fall in love and get into big things like parties and sex and everything.. blah blah blah. Oh and by the way, she's 16, she's not even a freshman... so don't just assume it's for younger teenagers.. I honestly don't even think she's under the influence of any type of drug. Even alcohol for that matter. I just think that she's at this party and is like hey, I really like that guy, and he wants to have sex with me...I kinda want to too... this probably means I'm in love with him.. I made that mistake unfortunately, so I can tell you firsthand that for this to occur you don't need any drugs. And I don't think that's why Martin was trying to convey through this song. The title's fooling you guys, it really just means that sex and maturing is like a dance hall drug (commonly ecstasy) and with it comes consequences. "This is more than just a dance hall drug" -- doing something like this is something that's a bigger deal than such a race drug. This is your virginity. You're losing it ("all")... take it for what its worth, I dont care. Just sharing. |

wow you guys are fucking stupid. except for the last like five people. NO its not Hanna Beth and NO its not Hannah Montana. ellieexo is probably right, that's the only inference that actually makes any sense. so thats probably what it's about.. but i am one of those who believe songs may be interpreted differently depending on the person doing the interpreting, becaues your past influences your thoughts when you hear lyrics. it's just how your brain works. so i thinking it could be about two good friends, and they decided to get physical cause they thought maybe they liked each other, but it ended up ruining everything. ("how did it feel to trade my trust for a touch, and your soul for a quick fuck?") and, getting the chance to say the things you should have said but couldn't say is usually a feeling you get when things are too awkward for you to actually talk, much less talk about your feelings or nostalgia. i just wanted to give my input. :) |

i have 2 ideas.. i dont know how to connect them, so you just do whatever you want with this. ok, basically in the verses, and "get your hands off my star, it's not your part but all your fault and this jealous actress has a habit of making things sound way too tragic" are saying his girlfriend (well i guess, whatever, this girl) is fake, overdramatic, etc.. i don't know. that's not a very good explanation, that's just what i get out of that. and as for the chorus... well i got this down i'm pretty sure. so yeah, black cat is a firework brand. but i honestly don't see how that helps the song make more sense. YOU'RE LIKE A BLACK CAT -she's like bad luck. simple as that. WITH YOUR BLACK BACKPACK FULL OF FIREWORKS -black symbolizes death, and the backpack full of fireworks... well, you know when people say "here come the fireworks"... get what i'm saying? AND YOU'RE GONNA BURN THE CITY DOWN RIGHT NOW. -she'll "burn the city down" with her "fireworks." which is basically her freaking out. because like i said, she's overdramatic. the city could symbolize their relationship. idk? just thinking :) i love mayday. they're amazing. |
