| I think this song is about a crush she had on an older guy in her office. I think he's older because of her reference to his Beasties Tee (older group). I think she was flirting with him by asking him downstairs for a smoke and after he figured out that she liked him he let her down easy by blaming it on the age difference. In the line "he's nothing in the scheme of my years" I think she's saying that the time she wasted on liking this guy was nothing in the scheme of her life (an attenpt to make herself feel better). In the line "I've never hated myself for my age so much" I think she's thinking that she feels like an old soul that could relate to this man. Just look at her musical taste. | |
