this is one beautiful song....it has a really sweet deep lyric that to me explains how much he loves her and that he would do anything to keep her from hurting herself, he's trying to give her confidence (but the object could be anyone he loves - a lover, friend, sister, brother, kid...) its definately not meant to be creepy. The actual music (like a lot of grohl's music) holds a lot of the meaning also. The rawness of his voice and its softness is so beautiful. |

i too agree that the real meaning of this song is in the actual music....yes the lyrics paint the picture of memories but for a long time i never consciously heard the lyrics - i was just taken by the music.
I actually like the 'cheesiness' of the chorus, it gives the impression of excitement and childlike recognition but the feelings/memories the sound of the song gives me is what I like the most and to me has the most meaning. I love it! definately in top 10 foo songs |

I think this is a very powerful song and that is reflected in the many heartfelt comments being left...I think that is really cool.
Like others have said this song makes you want to cry, feel upset and sometimes angry, shy, scared, confused, full of love...but no matter how many times its played on repeat you can not, i never, get over how great it is :)
I love music that evokes much emotion - it reinforces how alive and human we are. This is what this song means to me. |

this song is so sexy. i love the breathy sound of his voice. "Its HOT!" to me this song has always been a 'breakout and be free' song - i think it can be for either gender - chics can be just as overprotective and weird of their fellas...just let people be their own person.
Pharrell's dismembered super sexy head in the video just tops off perfectly an already sexy song :) :) :) |
