I've just turned nineteen, so I kind of can empathise with the protagonist in this song. I think it's just about being young, stupid and foolish. At this age, you're pressurised into doing things you don't particularly want to do, in this case sex. I feel her hormones have taken over and perhaps it was her first time, so she feels extremely attached to this person, though her lover probably just feels like it's normal, perhaps another "notch on their bedpost". |

An amazing song, one of his best, and one of the best songs I have ever heard in my life. A lot of people are saying that this song is not about drugs, but I feel that topic is a huge part of this song. "You don't deserve to be lonely But those drugs you got won't make you feel better Pretty soon you'll find it's the only Little part of your life you're keeping together." For me, this song is basically about Elliott having a relationship with a girl, but also having a relationship with drugs. I like the "twilight of his life" suggestions, I agree with that totally. |
