| When listening to it from the perspective of being beaten, the count-in towards the end seems like the actual fight is happening. Four clicks of sticks then slaps the whale. Simple, yet powerful lyrics and an awesome arrangement. Kudos | |

I had no idea that it was Wyclef! Was thinking it was Lauryn, but the voice does drop deep at the end of the song. On the "from me" that you mention, which is what I hear too. I agree that this song is eerie because of the voice. It has a piercing like effect when combined with the few words that say so much. |

I love the verse... You were out in the moonlight Until the break of daylight Giving your love to the law To me it seems to suggest that too many people waste their time getting into trouble and fighting with the law instead of gearing that energy towards other, better things, like the people that are good in your life or the life that is good. |

This song definitely screams with energy, it's just so fresh and upbeat! "next stop big hop is turning night into day" reminds me of the Russian space experiment ('88?) where they attempted to reflect the light of the sun off very large mirrors to create an artificial daytime. The project failed at that time, but huge advancements will certainly allow it to be possible someday. Maybe they're expressing their hope for it to be; after-all, light is energy. |
