fun. – All the Pretty Girls Lyrics | 15 years ago |
It's simple really; his relationship ended and now he's trying to move on but there's still this fixation there with his ex-girlfriend who he doesn't exactly hate.. makes me think that she ended it and he doesn't really understand why, or doesn't agree with the reason, still caring for her deeply.. hence him caring so much as to mess up every time he tries to go out. And I believe these are a better layout of the lyrics; ------------------ All the pretty girls on a Saturday night.. So I call your name, cross my fingers uncross the others, hesitate. Oh,I don't think straight with nothing to prove. I don't wanna say I'mm leaving I will stay until the weekend. And you can take all the things; the boxes and rings and get going. 'Cause I've been waiting for... All the pretty girls on a Saturday night. Let it be, and come to me with the look in your eyes. Well you break and take all the words from my mouth. I wish all the pretty girls were shaking me down. So I call (I call) you out (out baby) Just to feel a little bit better about myself (he does) And I do (you do), baby I do, I do, I do (really don't get it, yeah we know you do) 'Til their lips start to move, and their friends talk music I say "I've never heard the tune!" But I have, I just hate the band 'cause they remind me of you. Every single night ends up the same, I don't say much at all, but I bring up your name. (Over and over and over) I think it's striking me out. All the pretty girls on a Saturday night Let it be, and come to me with the look in your eyes. Well you break and take all the words from my mouth. I wish all the pretty girls were shaking me down. But not you, you still wear boots and your hair is too long and then this one doesn't want to admit she's fallen in love Oh c'mon, oh c'mon, what's a boy to do When all the pretty girls can't measure to you? I don't understand your reasons Please just stay over the weekend You can't take all those things They define you and me everything we've become, You're all that I need Please don't make me face my generation alone. All the pretty girls on a Saturday night. Let it be, oh come to me with the look in your eyes. And you break and take all the words from my mouth? I wish all the pretty girls were shaking me down. But not you, I feel your faith is destroying the world and then this one never really understood the 80s is over and done Oh c'mon, what's a boy to do, when all the pretty girls can't measure to you? |
Fall Out Boy – Lake Effect Kid (Demo) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Sometimes when I'm in heaven I get forgetful of the earth, woah Until I hear you big, real like boys and birds The heat is on Bakes up when the seat is down I've got a pocket full of deadliness Opium den mother, forget my head At the dead-end called unsteadiness Boxed blondes have less fun Boomerang my head Back to the city I grew up in Again and again and again Forever a lake effect kid I got the skyline in my veins Forget your night times Summer love on a gurney with a squeaky wheel And joke us, joke us 'Til "Lake Shore Drive" goes back into focus I just want to come back to life Spark until you hit or give your woman love I got a pocket full of deadliness Opium den mother, forget my head At the dead-end called unsteadiness Box blondes have less fun, fun Boomerang my head Back to the city I grew up in Again and again Forever a lake effect kid Boomerang my head Back to the city I grew up in Again and again and again Forever a lake effect kid Boomerang my head Back to the city I grew up in Again and again and again Forever a lake effect kid Boomerang my head Back to the city I grew up in Again and again and again Forever a lake effect kid |

Oh god someone please change it to "I get forgetful of the earth" because there's no way it's what it says above. |

I spent my all my teenage years not actually listening to the lyrics and yeah, just like RuthG above me... I had no idea what it was about until now. >. |
Matthew Good Band – Raygun Lyrics | 16 years ago |
It's a shame no one has really commented on this song, brilliant song. Now, Matt has never really been one to make it clear what he was writing about on some of his songs, all I can really say is that this song has something to do with something that is "trapped" inside the protaginist. Whatever that is is up to the listener and their own experiences, I guess. |
Matthew Good – 21st Century Living Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This is the song that pushed me to my future (hopefully) career. I heard it back in high school, and it started me to thinking. I started reading some of Matt's MBlog's and decided I wanted to be a journalist... and here I am, second year of university head on towards a major in Journalism. |
The Format – A Save Situation Lyrics | 16 years ago |
The progression here in this song is probably the best part to me, as well as Nate's vocal range. Just randomly, I have to say the best part of the song for me is; "I swore to God I'd never swear". |
