what i get out of this song is a slut of a drifter wandering from one woman to the next. it seems to me that he had a girl, saw a new one, felt lust for her, his girl saw what he felt, and now he's left behind to hike. he however doesn't feel so bad about it because the girl he was originally with shares the same story the new girl does. |

i see what you mean by the city-scape not equaling up to landscape. i, however, originally pictured the useless plateaus that are in the desert climate (which dries skin) of arizona trying to equal up to mountains when they clearly aren't. but you're probably right, the rest of the song seems to follow your connection. i suppose i saw the song as a cynic singing it when it's probably more of a realist who knows better things exist. |
