i def love songs like this with all the crazy sci-fi lyrics. some of these posts are way too long to read so let me break it down real quick: the extra planet or whatever is in fact an asteroid belt that would have been an extra planet, but jupiter's gravitational influence disrupted this planet's creation. interestingly enough, in the second verse they talk about the search for free energy being supressed (by the govt), and that seems like a nice comparison to jupiter. (i.e. jupiter killed the possibility of another planet, and the gov't is killing ours) either that or he's saying someone fucked up the asteroid-belt planet in the past and now we're fucking up ours. free energy most assuredly refers to solar energy. the element he names is carbon. also i can't tell if the last part is talking about lucid dreaming/astral projection or drugs (i.e. breathe technique could be meditation or smoking) |

| This song is him mocking mainstream rappers and how all the songs are the same thing over and over. How all modern mainstream rappers brag about money, drugs, or how messed up their lives are even tho they live comfortably. He is saying why bother with all that crap, because nobody really cares. But when you rap about real things nobody will listen | |

I don't think this song is only about boredom. It's about the whole concept of the "starving" artist. "My pockets got holes, i guess the goal's to stay empty." I believe the "green-eyed temptress" he's referring to is a metaphor for money. Sure, money can be tempting but it won't buy happiness. The people around him seem to bore him because the have very little artistic appreciation and he seems torn between making money, and preserving true art. He realizes that his art will never be truly appreciated until the next generation comes along. So he has feelings of worthlessness, but finds comfort in the fact that he could be famous after his death. This fact causes him to lose motivation to paint/rap/whatever periodically, so he'll find other ways to pass the time. |

I've read most of what people have to say about this song (too many to read :P) and to me it doesn't seem like drugs or society. I think its about having second thoughts about a break up. Trent is talking about how he doesn't feel the same and how he know hes trying to cope, but can see right through everything he's trying to convince himself of. Then he's saying after you break up it doesn't matter how you fit in with the other person, because they're gone anyway. He goes on to convince himself that the person was someone he just created to make himself sad. Like it the relationship was all just a bad dream or something. Then at the end he, for whatever reason decides to try and get back with the girl, but once he's back he remembers why he was so unhappy with her. Date a complete bitch, and you'll understand this song. |

| this song is obviously about women's rights and to some extent the black panthers. the instrumentals sound really cool. I love the energy the drummer and the guitar have in some of the faster parts. the lyrics however are a little stupid, because the part about the "kitty" makes no sense, and all the rest is very obvious political references. Good lyrics should have you guessing at the meaning, and not just tell you what the song is about straight up | |
