a few minutes ago, i was on myspace and my friend posted a bulletin. she loves dimebag and pantera so much. so she posted a bulletin with with the video to this song. it was the tribute to dime. now im a huge dimebag and pantera fan myself. when i watch the video, i was trying so hard to keep the tears back but it didnt work. this is probably one of the best "metal" ballads ever written. this just further proves that no matter what zakk wylde does, he executes it perfectly. R.I.P. Dime. we all miss you so much. watch over us metalheads. keep shreading with cliff,jimi,and randy for us. ill see you when its my turn to see the big man above. |

i think this song is about two friends. the guy loves the girl but the girl doesnt love him back. i had a huge crush on my friend. she was (and still is) the most perfect person ive ever met. so as we got to know each other more and more, i began to realize how much i loved her. not just for her looks but for everything else. she's pretty, smart and has a great personality. and as time went on, i was always thinking how to ask her out. so we went to the movies as friends, after the movie, we went to the food court in the theater and sat down for a while. so i explained everything about how i felt about her and it feels like she just shot me down. the lines "No one else will have me like you do" and "No one else will have me, only you" pretty much sum up everything i feel about her still i dont think i can ever love a person as much as i loved her. she was the only person i truly loved and cared for. out of all my friends, i cared for her the most and still do. even though were friends, i feel like thats not good enough. but as i think about it, i rather have her as a friend in my life than not at all.

yes, i have heard both versions of this song. and i think alkaline trios version is better because matts voice is clearer and the instruments are clearer but i do like TSOL's version as well. at least its a better cover then what the network and MCR did to teenagers from mars and astro zombies. those covers were horrible. |

i love this song so much that ive decided as my first tattoo, im getting the chorus tatted on my upper arm. my guess on what this song means is that the narrator (shadows) is dying and is trying to save himself from the afterlife,whatever that may be. great song by an even better band. |
