For me the meaning is about that we are just who we are and maybe they lived in a dream for a while but when they woke up they realized that they gave it to many second chances the truth is deep inside your heart and it can take a while to find out.. it takes many roads to come to the right. but finally you find the right way...and sometimes you regret... and I really think this lyrics speaks to me and tells me something...
