I totally LOVE this song! Absolutely one of Kent's best, among 747 and Dom Som Försvann. I like the way Jesus gets involved in the text, it adds that special, undefinable, deep feeling that only really good Kent songs have. For me personally, I feel that in some songs by Kent, they just sing as strange things as possible - things without any meaning at all - just because their fans expects that. This song however is totally perfect and you can really feel the honesty in it, it lies something behind the words, if you know what I mean? But this is of course just my opinion and how I feel, and it's up to everyone to get their own interpret Kent's music as they want :) |

I love this song too, it's totally one of of the 10 greatest songs ever according to me. I'm of course affected by the good memories this song reminds me of, but I totally think Mary's beautiful, powerful voice brings an extra dimension to it which is just fantastic. It sound so...genuine, real or something. I should also mention that I'm a BIG U2-fan, and I've loved "One" since the moment I first heard it. I prefer this version though, but that's not because I'm a stupid kid who doesn't know anything 'bout music ;) It's because it's a wonderful song! Finally, I wouldn't consider this RnB at all. I would rather call it a power ballad, although neither that is a good enough genre to sort this song in, but it's the closest call I can some up with right now ...hmm...I will be back! |
