Man-woman relationship; broke up; man (singer) hooked up with another. Then realized what he had lost and would quickly abandon his mistake. Now trying to get back with his former girl. Realized the extent of what he would do to prove that he still care; and discovering that he may be truly in love. But unfortuntately, the female is not responding positively--the female probably said she does not have any feelings for him anymore [an empty classy gaze on a blank face]. They used to be such energetic people, now just cold and lifeless individuals drifting [male may be feeling this more than female]. He feels that time may pass and eradicate the pain, but he will "remain [the female's] captive". |

This song could also be viewed in a female perspective: The female is trying to get the male to say "yes" and be committed to a "in a relationship". Perhaps the male is still not sure whether to get into a relationship with this female for some unknown reason. Perhaps he was in a previous relationship from which he has not yet "recovered". The female is getting anxious for him to accept her (the new girl -- and she sends this song to him to finally prod him to a love connection.) ??? |

Ok, looking at the meaning of the song from a female's point of view: This song is about a male and female in a relationship (or may not actually be...) The person waiting here is the girl/female. I suspect previous to this "I feel so lonely I'm waiting for you.." The scenario was [speculation]: The boy tells the girl that he likes her, that they have a connection, that he's falling for her-- everything that a boy tells a girl (short of "I love you"?) And the girl believes him. This is the "you told me 'bout the blue blue sky". They become bf/gf and enters into a "in a relationship" period. They went on dates, hung out, etc. Then, for some reason they stopped seeing each other (or the boy stopped seeing the girl.) And now the girl suspects that he's "just another Lemon Tree" -- a lying male who will sweet talk just to get the girl. The girl now realizes that; she becomes depressed [heavy cloud inside my head], and she makes an attempt to appear unaffected [...desert joy], and says "Baby anyhow I'll get another [boy] toy". Now we can create another behind the scene scenario for the male/boy. Why did the young man stopped seeing this female/girl? In his mind they may not really be "in a relationship". Who knows? He may actually be the young man who's sowing his oats. Or, he may be one who realizes that what he's doing to the girl is immoral. There could be a lot of reasons..... Ok, this is not part of the meaning of the song anymore... |
