| Rise Against – Savior Lyrics | 16 years ago |

It seems pretty straightforward to me. They are a couple. The boy loves the girl. The girl loves the boy but wants to change him, wants to change the things about him she finds destructive or unuseful. He is saying he loves her but he can't be the man she wants him to be; it's just not him. I do believe uncurl your hands is talking about prayer, but it is her praying to have the ability to change him. They love each other, but they aren't right for each other. |

All of Justin's songs have multiple meanings, themes, and such. This one definitely relates to the drug Ecstasy...There is absolutely no doubt in mind and there shouldn't be for anyone familiar with it. Also, Imogen Heap helped influence the sound for this song. Also, it's about how you act when your life is completely taken over by chemicals, and how to go on afterwards, mainly. Whether they are perscribed or street, I don't think it matters. |

| That isn't the whole thing behind the song. He had this wall of pictures and such and while he was staring at in, on drug's himself, he came up with Chameleon Boy. I'm sure the other given answers are also correct but I remembered him talking about this at one of his concerts. | |

I believe these are the lyrics(with a couple notes at the end): If I had my own world I'd build you an empire If I had my own world I'd fill it with wealth and desire A glorious past to(1) admire And voices of kids out walking dogs, birds, planes, cleanest cars If I had my own world I'd love it for all that's inside it There'd be no more wars, death(2), or riots There'd be no more police, packed parking lots, guns, bombs, sounding off If I had my own world I'd build you an empire From here to the farlands To spread love like violence If I had my own world I'd build you an empire From here to the farlands To spread love like violence Let me heal you, carry you higher Watch your words spread hope like fire Secret crowds rise up and gather Here your voices sing back louder If I had my own world I'd show you the life that's inside it The way that it glows when you find it The way it survives with it's families, friends or it's enemies Let's make this a new world I swear you can go if you want to I know that you have that within you Inventing the first clean and usable God's greatest Miracle If I had my own world I'd build you an empire From here to the farlands To spread love like violence If I had my own world I'd build you an empire From here to the farlands To spread love like violence Let me feel you, carry you higher Watch your words spread hope like fire Secret crowds rise up and gather Here your voices sing back louder Let me feel you, carry you higher Watch your words spread hope like fire Secret crowds rise up and gather Here your voices sing back louder Let me feel you, carry you higher Watch your words spread hope like fire Secret crowds rise up and gather Here your voices sing back louder 1. The way he says this word sounds like Tchoo...Which chould be an inflected you or to. It sounds more like to to me though and to fits much better there for parallel construction, which this song is definitely playing on. 2. This is either death or doubt...I really can't tell with the way it is pronounced. Personally, I think death fits much better in that list than doubt. |
