I'm currently listening to John Lee Hooker's rendition of this composition...I really haven't fully digested the lyrics. But am in awe at his voice, style of playing and the whole idea that he was doing this very early on in musical history.

I think this song tries to describe a certain type of person. Someone who takes the good with the bad upon living such a lifestyle. A loner, someone who doesn't really like to confront situations, someone that has not chosen the same path as everyone else. An outcast, free thinker, but something aches, some sort of uncertainty..discomfort, unsettled.

To me these lyrics express the ugly side of relationships, how things change, and fall apart. It seems like this was directed to all the bands & it's members with whom Garcia has been with and broken up with.

I think this is just what it says it is. Kyuss is charged with so much emotional energy, no matter how they deliver it. & with so much of their material, its very much open to interpretation, because its not always literal or easy to pick up on exactly how or why that particular track came about. But this song, it's clear it's just a long distance affair or a yearning to finally run into destiny and meet the girl that is 'meant' for you. |

Love the composition on this track, from the lyrics to the arrangement. Don't know what the hell he's talking about 'cause I'm still trying to digest the sounds. Kyuss..you rock...QOTA is garbage compared to Kyuss. What a combo of people to make such great sounds. It all fell a part when they broke up. Just my 2 cents. |
