Well you can take it personally as a Christian, or you can look at yourself and look at the Branch Davidians, Westboro Baptists, Klansmen, or even on a non-christian spectrum since it's a hot topic: Scientology. I think the purpose of this song is just to confront those who hide behind religion and remain ignorant to everyone else, not by violence or dilberate intention- but through inaction because they feel they are "chosen" and "above" those who don't believe in the same things they do. Personally, I think the bible has been manipulated by church and state so much throughout it's span that whatever fate may occur after my death lies between me and that diety. Whereas in the here and now are laws, values, morals, standards, and COMMON SENSE. So to all you talking down to agnostics and atheist get over yourself, they aren't heathens. |

There's no doubt that the vocal, industrial, and instrumental applications work extremely well with one another. But finally seeing the lyrics, I am confused as ever. Was she just putting random lines together? I see no semblance or ongoing theme in the lyrics or chorus other than wishing to change. I wish more people would clarify this, it's a strange, yet haunting song. I still like it though. |

I think this song means that there comes a time where we all must grow out of our little innocent bubbles and take on the world. As children we see the world as such a linear and simple thing with all our plans and goals in mind. Then there comes the day where some teacher, parent, authority says the saying- You know it, join in, "That's life" which seems to be the excuse for every bit of injustice out there. I think the message for this song is to hang on to that bubble and never give up on the ideals we had as children. Despite all that will become of us, we're still the same person. |
