The song is simply about lonely people. Eleanor rigby is a lonely person father Mckanzie knows her only after she dies (alone, of course). The line "Eleanor Rigby picks up the rice in the church where a wedding has been" says it all. the rice is the left-overs of the wedding, and wedding is for people who will always have someone until death take them apart. For me. this one is the beatles at their best. The words are so meaningful and combined with that powerful music, make it so sad. The strings are brilliant. |
