| By far one of the better songs IMO, simply because its him giving a big middle finger. You dont like his music? Fuck it. Hes gonna do it anyways. | |

| Against Me! – I Was a Teenage Anarchist Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| I think you missed the point. hes not saying thats what anarchy is, just thats how it is perceived by "teenage anarchists." As someone who went through what he did, and seem to have matured in the same way, I look back, and its true. If I saw someone try to dress like a punk, but didnt like them, they were a poser. If they were an anarchist, but not my friend, they were a poser. And my answer for everything was violence. SOAD came out with the song BYOB, and in the chorus he says "why dont the presidents fight the war?" Seemed to make sense to me at the time. Let the fucker die. Now I look back at a lot of my philosophies and I see a bunch of flaws. And I notice that if you didnt fit in, you were a sell out. A part of the man. | |

You didnt listen to half of the song, did you? Hes not doing this for more sales. Hell, even that quote says hes not doing it for money. This song is simply about how he grew up and realized how full of shit the anarchist scene can be. And as someone who "was a teenage anarchist," I have to agree. I knew some that, looking back, had a good grasp on it, and some who still do. But most of my anarchist friends were just as much of consumers as the anarchists. Hell, someone just commented saying to go check out a Rise Against song. Doesnt say much for the anarchist scene. Over all the anarchist scene is just something people tend to grow out of. I didnt actually get around to listening to this album until a month ago, but this has quickly become one of my favorite songs by them because I feel exactly like he does. Its probably why I also love movies like SLC Punk. Its the same message. I dont think I completely realized it until I got older, but it is. Anarchy can be a great philosophy, but when you are a young punk trying to practice it, you generally are no worse than those you hate. Anyone who doesnt dress the part is a poser. If a band gets popular(which, by the way, is not their fault, people just like them and it spreads), then no matter what the circumstances are they are in it for the money. If someone listens ti something like rao than they cant be an anarchist. Its all about being non-comformist, but yet having a sense of a lifestyle all set up for you. |

| The Gay Blades – O-Shot Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Thats exactly what I was going to put up. If it wasnt for that part I wouldnt really have any clue as to what the song was about. But I think its about alcoholism, and the point of view of some one who might be suffering from it. When they say "you never got caught," it might be going behind every ones back and sneaking some drinks. My boyfriend does that all the time with cigs. After that hes saying that he doesnt think its harming any one. Its all in fun. |

I agree and disagree with Malice. I think theybare saying that religion blinds people, but I don't think they are saying that religion is bad as much as the people and the things they do to either make themselves look better than they are or to tear others down. Over all I get a lot of different things from this song, such as when he says "Religion and science fighting a new kind of war," he's talking about how people don't except others for their beliefs. The christians tell every one they are going to hell, and the athiests call the Christians dumb. Another thing is that no matter what you believe, make sure it's something that makes you happen. "Heaven lies in my heart." it can't be just what others are preaching, but what you feel to be true. Also that we aren't meant to jus focus on what we beleive and have that take over out lives, but to just enjoy life |

| Godspeed You! Black Emperor – Moya Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I kind of get a different feeling. It starts out the way as you guys see it, but it ends different. For me it seems to be depressing at the begging. But at the same time it's not a "Whoa is me! The world is ending!" type of thing. Just... depressing. And a bit it starts to pick up an it feels like everything is going to be ok. Then after a few minutes it quickly picks up even more, but the music is more chaotic. To me it's almost like going back to the depression, only everything is escalating out of control. As weird as it might sound, this song in a way actually was one of the reasons I thought of the book Im writting right now. When I listen to music with out words, sometimes I kind of picture stories. Sometimes with out even thinking about it. The way I described the song is basically the way the story gos. I would probably have to say that this is the best GY!BE song. |

I personaly am agnostic, but I still find this a great song. I believe that there was a Jesus, and he did die for us. I dont really believe it had any effect, but still, it showed that he really did love every one. And HAIL_macbeth is right about the AD thing. If it was after death, then that measn that he would have to die right after being born, since BC ended with his birth. |

Personaly, I think that some of the lines such as "make sure your face is clean now can't have no dirty dead " maiby were things that the cops said to them(or something to the effect) in an attempt to mock them. Or, at least thats what it seams to me when I read the lyrics. |

I have always thought of it the way that script has. It hasnt been much of un upper for me. Yeah, I listne to it when I feel depressed, but then again, when Im depressed, I litlen to depressing songs, cause thats what Im in the mood for. And as for David, look at the date the song was posted, then look at the date you commented. now, how many of us do you think come on here every single day to see if some one has posted new lyrics? Yeah, nice try though. Next time you try to insult people, just do it with out the suck. |

| Depeche Mode – Personal Jesus Lyrics | 18 years ago |

This is one of those songs that the meaning is differnt for every one(unless your just completly wrong and saying its about finding Christ). Personally, I think its a mix of the hotline idea, and him offering himself as a personal jesus. I dont think its him saying he personally will be it, but he is speaking from the person you call's point of view. That, or I think its about how every one needs something to look up to. So it could be about the peop[le trying to get money from religion, or about finding your own personal jesus. |

I dont know oldschool. I like Danzig, and the music itself was better, but I think that Graves is a better vocalist. Plus, they did offer Danzig to come back, and he declined. But other than that, yes, they were better before, and probably alot more fun to see than the new band. |

| Misfits – Where Eagles Dare Lyrics | 18 years ago |

This song is almost perfect. Me and my friends walk around town at 2 a.m., and people insult us all the time(usually something to the effect of "your going to hell"). And sometimes I just feel like yelling this at them. Plus, this is probably their eisiest song to just goof off to. Kick ass! |

| Misfits – Ghoul's Night Out Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
God I love this song. Its not one with a deep meaning, or some story line in it. Its just plain and simple: ghouls going around killing people. Its probably my favorite out of thier songs... after Where Eagles Dare. But as for Goldfinger, I didnt care for the cover that much. The band is OK, but I like this one more. |

| Misfits – Teenagers From Mars Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Green Day gave up the title punk when they made American Idiot. And saintjimmy, safty pins isnt punk, thats "emo." Even though most of the emo kids now are in it for fashion, or only think thay have problems. And skateboarding isnt a punk thing. But if you want to say they are punk, here is what Jonny Rotten(if you dont know who he is, dont even try to say you know what punk is) has to say: "So there we are fending off all that and it pisses me off that years later a wank outfit like Green Day hop in and nick all that and attach it to themselves. They didn't earn their wings to do that and if they were true punk they wouldn't look anything like they do." Green Day sold out, and personally, I dont think they know anough to concider themselves anarchists. They made it a fasion, and now it is infecting the middle schools. If you read their lyrics, yes, they have some good points, but most of it is :I hate war. I hate Bush." And thats about it. So yes, they were good at first, but sold out with American idiot. But as for the song: kick ass. One of my faves by them. |

I kind of agree with ranger. I think he killed Amy(not Julie), but he regrets it, because he loved her. But she wasnt the first, so when he tried to kill Julie, he wasnt satisfied because it wasnt the same as with Amy. But yeah, Im gonna go with Graves. Danzig kicked ass, and the band Danzig is also awsome, but there is something about Graves that makes it that much more awsome. |

Actually, if you play it backwards, all you get is: elpoep lufituaeb eht (x about a million) naelc eb ot drah nam sepa htiw evil uoy fi (and so on) How do you get Satanism out of that? Yeah, theres is evil but because the e is silent and the i sounds deffernt, that dousnt count either. So stop trying to spread rumorrs about him, he already has enough. |

| Into Eternity – Point Of Uncertainty Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Yeah! First comment! But anywho, I think its about some one who is vane. And that person ended up on making the person talking looking bad(You've sold my dignity/Accusing me of this forgery). So the person talking shocked, but he feels like eventually the vane person will end up on falling, and the speaker will rise up above him. But thats just what I get out of it. |
