I think she's talking about trying not to be jealous of other people 'cause they're with someone she wants, because she thinks they have more than her. she doesn't want to be possessive of the person.

I agree with hippifrog. all I really heard when I first listened to the song was the chorus, but now that I read the lyrics, all I can think is cat fight. going for someone that's already taken is disrespectful. though isn't lust a kind of magic?
the fact that she would still go for the guy even after she found out that he had a girlfriend was arrogant. this song reminds me of "girlfriend" by avril lavigne. but hey, it's a dog-eat-dog world. "love is a battlefield" as pat benatar said. |

I think this song is about how someone thought they knew someone, but then discovered their true motives. Now they're fighting and both of them are too stubborn/headstrong to back down. I like Mike Shinoda's style; he's the only rapper I listen to. This song is awesome.
I can relate so well. My friend is definately on her own now. The damn abusive bitch would take her anger out on people, verbally and physically, when they did absolutely nothing to deserve it. She scolds people for swearing (considering 'shut up' a bad word), but yet she calls her classmate a bitch and yells at people for saying shut up when she IMs STFU, denying it later. She forces me to help her study for her test when I have to study for one of mine, but I'm tired of being nice and soft spoken. Sometimes, I yell at her even when she's bitching at someone else because I need an excuse to yell at her, and she needs to hear it. No mercy, even when you feel guilty, is a good thing when it comes to shit like that. |

MajiksMonster does seem kinda right. Very deep. I never thought about it like that because it sounded so happy that you don't think about death. This song can be interpreted in many ways even with such easily understandable lyrics. "Tonight" kinda gives you a sitution, but I don't think it's necessarily physical love.

I thought twice about putting it on my Ipod because people might think I was a a lezbian (and I'm not. but to all those that are lezbian: I have nothing against you. it's cool with me. to each, his own). But I said fuck it and put it on anyway. Tight beat, catchy tune, and she was curious. As the lyrics said, it's "just human nature" (and that alcohol increases that attitude).

I've always loved this song, but I had no idea that this song was biblical until I watched the prince of egypt (again, I've watched it when I was younger, but being so young, I don't remember), which I didn't know was biblical either. The song's about how the Jewish (known as hebrews then) slaves wanted to be free from the Egyptians rule, and how it took awhile. They just had to believe, and their prayers were 'delivered'. It's a very uplifting and inspiring song, and it has a new meaning to me now that I know it's biblical. |

I love this song. I never listened to the lyrics before, I just loved to dance to the beat. But now that I look at it, I realize I can relate so well.
I think she's talking about confusing relationship. She doesn't know how she feels and feelings just get so bottled up that she had to 'scream at the thought you kept inside'. She's happy, and then sad, and feels confused about the whole thing. Nothing lasts long. And like PerfectlyWrecked said, she's wondering if he's worth it because "one minute goes fast." |
