I actually feel a little different. I think that this song is about when you stay with someone out of pity. The "Silver Lining" in their life. The only good thing they have got going for them--you like them alright so why break up with them? But maybe a little clandestine flirting with someone else or even an affair shows her that she can be the pride-- the "gold" of someone's life, cherished and admired, rather that just the ok "silver" of someone else's... |
