This is the meaning straight out of Kurts MOuth, i forgot what interview he said it, but all apologies was supposed to be a boring pop-song that he wrote just cause he wanted to write a 'pop' song to be different from all of the grunge that he had been writing. Something softer, but he said after the media started saying that he was suicidal the songs meaning was miscontrued. Its was supposed to be a happier up beat song, ive heard earlier recordings of it, it was weirdly up beat. But yeah sum it up, it was supposed to me the Nirvana pop song, it was basically Kurt being like uh yeah you want pop, ill write pop hence the line what else could i write, i don't have the right, meaning the record companies were forcing his music to become poppy. The orginal like wasn't gay, it was all my words are grey. Also remember Rape Me is on this album "In Utero" and that was a stab at the record company. |

Lets start explaining all the small meanings in the song, a small cloud has fallen the white mist hits the ground. Well refering to the smoke being emmitted from what ever bilie was smoking, pipe/bong ect. My lungs comfort me with Joy.. doesn't need explaniation. Lying in my bed i think I'm in left field. Staring up trippin out, all I gotta say about that part, standin so damn close my body begins to swell. Like someone said before me, thinkin about a girl.. Umm yeah Body begins to swell... Hmmm... Boner? My band covers this song its actually really fun to play!

Well if you look at it from a Def Leppard stance its another Love Bites, but I don't see it as a love song just after hearing it once I agree with you Livvylu10 because I don't think they really have confronted the loss of Clark in a song that I am aware of. I mean Joe and Steve were close friends through the bands early history. Joe was supporting Steve for the most part, so if he had anything to do with the lyrics I think its about Steve. I just think this one was written in the prespective of a love song to hide the real meaning of it. |
