Okay, people. This song is primarily about a weird guy with a hard life who is in love with the Virgin Mary and feels that his life has meaning because of her. At home, he has a picture of the Virgin Mary on his wall: "You’re my picture on the wall." He talks to her a lot. It's all explained in the last verse: "I don’t dare to think of you In a physical way... I’d pay to visit you on rainy Sundays I’ll maybe tell you all about it someday" He believes that when he dies he will get to meet the Virgin Mary and live with her. This one is obvious. |

I think these comments are way off and some of the suggested lyrics. This song is about a guy -- the singer -- trying to convince someone that they should party: "What is there to keep yourself? You got it wrong. It's a good day to skip. Parents aren't enforcing the laws." They got in some kind of trouble before but things are going to go just fine this time so let's party. "Don't you ever listen at all?" |
