Who is Lisa? She's in oh so many songs. |

| Death Cab for Cutie – Someday You Will Be Loved Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
He is such a cop out! Someday you will be loved? Just tell her you're leaving and don't try to make it worse by telling her things will get better. She loved you and now you're leaving her, it's going to hurt. She doesn't need to know about the future, she needs someone to make it better now! Haha obviously I just had a break up and was greeted with similar sentiments. Brilliant song! |

This song is so beautiful, but it just makes me cry. I want someone to feel so desperate to be my everything. It sounds like he's more in love with her than she is with him, though. It's so perfect. I always loved Such Great Heights better, but this one just hit me. |

| The Beatles – If I Fell Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I think that this song really implies that he wants to move on, but can't. He wants to have a love where he won't be hurt, but he can't bear to reject the one he has. Even though it sounds kind of like he just doesn't want to lose his love before he finds a new one, it's like he still cares so much about the first one that he wants to hurt her with a new love, rather than to heal himself. | |
| Vampire Weekend – I Stand Corrected Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I think that he loves this girl, but he can't stand the way that she can't leave anything that he says alone without finding some obscure meaning, distorting it, and holding it against him. He can't stand that she won't admit that she has her own issues. It kind of follows on from Oxford Comma, maybe? I don't know. I find that the first half of the song is really sarcastic, but when he "forget[s] the protocol" he wants to just let everything go, and just be with her. He wants to ignore her constant nagging, and her inability to be wrong. Maybe he can. |

| Sarah Blasko – Perfect Now Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
It doesn't seem like the reason that she has to leave is about him, really, at all. She "can't find forever in [his] eyes" because she's so scared of ruining what she has. It's "Perfect Now", but what happens when she succumbs to humanity and makes a mistake? She can't see the future because how can her situation get better? It's scary because she can't take the shame of being imperfect in a perfect moment. She says that she "should leave [him] while [the eyes] dry" but they aren't necessarily his. I think she wants to freeze the moment because she thinks it's going to be the pinnacle of her existence, she doesn't want to break her own heart by not living up to what she sees as the perfect situation. My ex kind of uses this song to explain why he left me. I don't understand. I don't think it was ever about him at all. |
