i dont know where it was but i rember reading an interview with tom delonge where he said something along the lines of AVA will make your heart stop beating, or somethign similar. so i think this is about the blink breakup and how the media has blown it way out of proportion. and now i cant, stop, thinking about it (the media/tom wont let him move on) all you people at the top dont know nothing about it (the media is spinning the story in the wrong direction) and, we dont give a fuck what the price is so just leave us to our own devices and we'll leave you alone (he dosent care if the fans are upset about the breakup, just let them play their music) ill be there when your heart stops beating ill be there when your last breath is taken away (reference to a quote by tom delonge) in the dark when theres no one listening (how tom said to listen to ava with the lights off) in the times when we both get carried away(this breakup stuff has gotten way out of hand) |

it is about the movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" watch the movie and read the lyrics and you'll see the connection. i agree entirely with 1021 , its obviously about writer's block. I think the line "let repetition save me" right before the chorus and the lines "move one inch at a time and you'll be just fine move one inch at a time and you'll find they pull me in but accomplishments are transient they pull me in but accomplishments are transient" witch are all repeated lines, that shows him just giving in to what he said in the first verse "would it be easy to repeat the first line?" pretty much asking him self if he should just take the easy way out. |
