surprised nobody commented! to me this song's about someone you've known your whole life (possibly a best friend) leaving town for good and then feeling devistated, while having to think of your own path in life to go down on, needing the streetlamps, or any sign, to help make your decision. |

Alright, here's my take on it. "Remember me when you're the one who's silver screen Remember me when you're the one you always dreamed Remember me when everyone's noses start to bleed Remember me, special needs" - Brian asking his former boyfriend if he remembers him, the times they shared doing coke.. silver screen could mean the boyfriend was in the acting business? and the 'special needs' line could also be said boyfriend, but brian didn't want to name him because.. it would be too painful? so he repeatedly calls him special needs "Just 19 and sucker's dream I guess I thought you had the flavour Just 19 and dream obscene with six months off for bad behaviour" - We all do stupid shit in our teen years and think with our hearts.. which don't always work out. They spent six months together in rehab "for bad behaviour" but only one of them got better "Remember me when you clinch your movie deal And think of me stuck in my chair that has four wheels Remember me through flash photography and screams Remember me, special dreams" - movie deal: his boyfriend failed to follow HIS dreams as an actor? while brian went forward with his band and i think the next line could mean two things: a flashback of when brian was just as fucked up on coke as his boyfriend that he needed help to get around (the chair that has four wheels) or now that brian's famous and travelling all over the world, the four wheels could possibly be a car. "remember me through flash photography and screams" - flash photography could literally be pictures his ex took of the time they had together and remembering the screams/pain they went through to clean up/stay together but it didn't work out. the lyrics can go so many ways and still mean something to someone, that's what i love about placebo :D |
