Horse Feathers – Finch on Saturday Lyrics 16 years ago
This song is full of resentment of religion. I think the singer has a frustration with being preached at and told what to do his whole life, and see's the hypocrisy of the preacher. He's sick of it and doesnt believe it anymore.

He's told all boys have bad things on their minds, and they need to give their lives and minds to god in order to be good. "Red cowards in the home of the brave (the United States)/Rather the knaves and crooks that twist the good book" is about how preachers tell lies and distort their messages in order to get people to follow them and give them their hard earned money. The singer is calling them cowards for simply choosing to believe and act blindly.

Thats what I get from it at leat

Horse Feathers – Curs In The Weeds Lyrics 16 years ago
I think it's about a divorce from the perspective of the child.

He feels like he's caught, along with his brothers and sister, between the fighting of his parents. He feel's responsible, even though its not his fault ("The ones in between/the ones that are blamed", "cursed to believe"). He's now a cynic that seethes, because he no longer believes love is possible as his parents, the epitome of a loving relationship for a young child, have failed to love each other.

The artist then goes on to say "It's like marrow without bone/To live in a house with no home."
He's physically living in a house with his family, but it does not feel like a home because it is now bereft of love with the parents fighting each other. "The son is the darkest seed" because he is what is left of a relationship gone sour. The only thing that is left of the love the parents once had.
So he is [the son] left to crawl and hide with the curs (an aggressive dog in poor condition). He is now some kind of angry and homeless stray who feels like he has been betrayed by his parents inability to keep the family together.

The last part seems like the father or mother asking where the son had gone and been, now that he (or she) is no longer distracted by the fighting and realized that his son had gone off to hide somewhere. The father wants to know where his son has been, but fails to realize that he has run off because of him and the fighting with his wife. He just doesn't understand how it's hurting the son, and he can't.

Teitur – I Was Just Thinking Lyrics 18 years ago
Though I feel like this is pretty obvious, I feel there is a little something more. The writer obviously feels like the relationship is going nowhere but is reluctant to let it go because he is still infatuated with this person who unfortunately is miles away. They have been missing out on a large part of a relationship, the physical part, but somehow the distance makes that feeling of love that much stronger. I feel like the singer is trying to communicate that the distance is getting harder and harder to put up with, but hes not ready to give up on it yet because hes so in love.

Just my 2 cents.
