I think a lot of meaning behind this song, and thier whole like presentation, is to just live life to the fullest. Here they're celebrating high school - cause most people thinking when you're a teenager that's the only time you can let loose. Look at most older folks here talking about how nostalgic it makes them feel. I think the "message" is to just have fun, no matter your age. I stumbled onto them by randomly going to their show based on word of mouth. I loved it, but I didn't get into the dancing and stuff and the band was basically glowering at ppl who weren't moving. So, yeh it's about un-self conscious fun. |

I don't think it's refering to Koufax. And wasn't he Jewish? The Pitcher is refering to Jon Rocker, a recovering alcoholic pitcher from Atlanta who talked about not wanting a "fag" on his team when the rumours about Piazza were going around. |

My 2 Cents: It's from the perspective of a transexual woman dumped by a str8 dude who couldn't handle her being trans. Evidence: "I’ll get my operation on the N.H.S Will it cure my blushes will it bring out my best? Some will say I was a woman pretending to be a girl" The NHS pays for transsexual surgery, and the narrator seems to be looking forward to it making her more attractive to men. "Fantasize about how happy you’d be with a girl tonight" She feels sorry for herself by imagining the boy wishing for a real girlfriend, rather then whatever she is. |
