without over analyzing this song, the main idea I get is the internal battle of being with someone and being with God. He leaves her to remain one with God because she doesn't believe in God the same way. Now the comfort he used to feel in being "in her arms" he now feels in God's. "all things left are emptiness" means that all things left behind are emptiness. When God became the wine glass, he no longer felt empty. |

i absolutely love this song, but I was wondering who the vocalist is because I feel like Aaron's voice would be more distinct. Is is Mike? I met Mike when they played in New York the other week and it slipped my mind to ask him. He did tell me their drummer, Richard, makes the set list, and he is never really in the mood to play first album material while Mike still loves them, especially Silencer. Am I special? | Adam admits in AP magazine that all his feelings involving his ex-fiance, Chauntelle DuPree, are within the lyrics to this CD. With that, I believe they bought a house (obviously), after all they were getting married. She is a southern belle, and presumed to be be very Christian. I believe this means she would turn to her faith and used it against Adam since it was convenient to. Rather than stop bashing Adam, she kept doing so. The "pasts" they were divided by may mean Adam being a drunk, if not other things, while Chauntelle was more conservative with her living. The "lord, what have I done" part I see in multiple ways. Maybe he did do something wrong that ended their relationship or he was tired of her and what she constantly would say about him. I don;t know though, I'm not Adam. | |
