the rev wrote it which pretty much says everything haha + they wanted it to sound danny elfman like and got the same musicians in to do the trumpets etc..thats where people get the tim burton thing from. + they basically wanted to do a crazy song like what they used to do in their old band which i cant remember the name of haha and obviously its about a guy who kills then has sex with his wifes corpse..then she comes back from the dead - kills him, they get married and then kill others. |

I'm guessing this is about some book, which I haven't read. But I get the idea that it's about some girl who has been kidnapped or locked away for a long time. I got this from the whole 'Porcelain skin that the sun would soon hurt'... like she hadn't seen sunlight for a long time? Then the 'Kill her right now' suggests that her kidnapper should just kill her cos she's suffered enough . And maybe the killer has no heart, he just wants to experience love or family.. 'Sell me the secrets of love in a pint of blood' I could be totally wrong, in which case I'm sorry, I was just guessing! |

I think this about a couple who marry out of love. 'What else is there to know when your tax is shared' This is one of the lines that made me think that they married out of love. Like it was convenient for them to marry to save on money. 'Got my vows off the internet' This also suggests they didn't love each other, their vows did not come from the heart, it wasn't true. Alot of Meg & Dia's songs really baffle me. I know they write alot about books, and I like that their songs aren't straight forward and you don't necessarily need to know the story to enjoy the song. I'd really love to know the background to alot of the songs. They really write from a perspective rather than looking upon something as an outsider... if you know what I mean? Haha This is obviously about being on the coast, I think there's somewhat a reference to drowning. But I don't know. |
