I think this song is about people who think that if they only go to church, everyhing will be ok, and they don't have to acually do anything the Bible says, just listen to the man with the funny hat in the glass covered car. It might be about people who don't acually think about their religion, just blindly follow and don't ask questions. Im a christian, but I don't tell people they are going to hell, and I acually question my religion all the time, because that way, I can acually understand it. |

I think this song is not really so much an anti-religous song, so much as a song bashing people who go to to Church for their own comfort without really listening, and not really devoting any intellectual/philispphical thought towards it, and basically think "If I just go to church, I go to heaven."
Or, it may be about the band, I have heard that idea tossed around, and it fits. |
