Like everyone else, I got the overwhelming 'mistreated person' meaning behind the words. For me this song talked of a wanderer who had been done wrong by everyone he knew, he keeps running from his life, he never feels at home anywhere and never will. The road is is home and ever will be because he runs to put the past behind him. This will always be the meaning of the song for me, but I registered just now (and this is my first post) because I wanted to thank ViperTheSpider, karmakazi and simonbond. I know what this song means to me, but with your opinions, I think I'm 1 step closer to understanding what it meant to Cornell. Thanks! |
