This song is beautiful, simply put. I heard it on Grey's Anatomy and was blown away. I think this song is about someone attempting to give up on a unrequited crush, because the other person is so indifferent. Leave me out with the waste This is not what I do It's the wrong kind of place To be thinking of you It's the wrong time For somebody new It's a small crime And I've got no excuse At first this person thinking, I have to forget about this, it's useless, because all I am to the person who I'm insanely in love with is trash. And at that time and place, this person is convinced that they're not supposed to be thinking of that person, but at the same time, they can't forget them. I think the last line in that verse means that falling in love with you is a crime, because I'm going to hurt myself, but I have no excuse. Is that alright?yeah. Give my gun away when it's loaded Is that alright? yeah. If you don't shoot it how am I supposed to hold it Is that alright? yeah. Give my gun away when it's loaded Is that alright? yeah With you... So, as much as this person wants to let go, they keep asking the other person if it's okay to let go. And then the other person is so indifferent, and the first person is angry because how are they supposed to hold onto this love when the other person is neither holding on nor shooting them down. The line "Give my gun away when it's loaded" is extremely important because I think that's how the person feels. Like they're giving they're love away when it's still there; like throwing a beating heart into the trash can. Leave me out with the waste This is not what I do It's the wrong kind of place To be cheating on you It's the wrong time She's pulling me through It's a small crime And I've got no excuse Now, the person in love is trying another method to forget the other. And it's working, but the problem, is that now they're falling in love with this other person. The next few verses are just repetition, but I think (and this conclusion is drawn up from the music video) that the person who is indifferent slowly drifts away, or dies and the other person (who is now in love with someone else) realizes that this wasn't their fault, that they can't keep or let go of something that was never theirs. Just my take on this beautiful song, of course. Maybe things to literal, maybe not. I'll let you, whoever is reading this, decide. Thebrokenarchangel. |

| A Kiss Could Be Deadly – And So It Ends Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I just discovered this band, and I am amazed! talk about hidden talent! Actually, I think it's about a few things. I definitely agree with the "telling somebody, before it's too late theory" because the last line makes it obvious. But I don't think it's about telling somebody how you may feel about them, I think it's about telling someone they're sick, or about to die, or confronting them about who they've become, because there's a drug reference in the last verse. I think it's also about losing things that you thought were near you, discovering the distance between words and actions, and once you discover that they're just that -words- the lie buries you alive. | |
