I tend to be contradictory 'cause I'm insanely indecisive. :D Though there's a fine line between twisted and pure... kmykula - I see the references to Twilight in it also, but I didn't like the books or the characters, so I'd rather not mix The Hush Sound with them. xD |

[No offense?] :( meredithgillies - About the "you're the only angel I ever gave away" part, I'm not REALLY sure, but it seems kinda like... he let her die? I don't know, but if you're going with the hospital thing, it almost seems like that. Though I guess it could be like he cured her because he loved her? And by curing her, she left the place, which is what he didn't want? I don't know. I'm stuck between the twisted view of this song and the pure view that Crickets06424 is talking about. |

I know it's hard to write songs that don't sound like anything else. It still bothers me though... It just seems like after three years, they could have written something better than this. *shrugs* I'm just kind of indifferent to this song. Doesn't really stand out to me. |

It ticks me off how much this sounds like a billion other songs. I listened to country for like a million years before I started liking Panic! [I refuse to drop the !, 'cause it makes me happy], and the beginning to this song sounds WAAAAY too familiar. It reminds me of like Jo Dee Messina, which is kind of gross. I don't mind genre jumps but ripping off songs is a little too much for me. |

'I’ve lost more songs to floods' made me of think of them scrapping the songs they had and starting over for this album. But I don't think that's really what the line's supposed to mean... I don't know. I don't really like any of the lyrics on Pretty. Odd. Does anyone else think Brendon sounds like he's wearing a retainer or something in this song? To me, it sounds like he has a lisp or something. |

I agree with drummergirl9's interpretation, except I think that he's going to rape her or something? Especially the 'I won't take a no' and the 'And he likes the taste of blood/And he loves the way you love/And that's just what he wants from you' parts. The 'You're the only angel I ever gave away' part doesn't really work with that though. I don't know, my friend's always talking about the rape victims on SVU so maybe I've been corrupted. |

I'm pretty sure that it's "BABY, right now you look bored enough to die" instead of maybe. And I don't think there's an and in front of the "I've never hurt you" part. =) This is like my second favorite song on the whole CD, after Sleep, Everyone... xD |
