to me.. this song is about a relationship.. something went wrong (he screwed up or something along those lines) but he yearns for a new morning - a new day - a new beginning where he will be able to get it right. I think the last verse especially supports this: Their love, the summer rose, fell victim to some stress.. the fall which means the rose bush goes dormant and seemingly dead like their love. The next line "But am soon returning" means that like with spring, morning, beginning, ect. their love will once again blossom again. And the closing lines are just obvious, "Your love is the warmest place the sun ever shines / My morning yearning." With the love that the bestow upon each other their relationship will once again be able to grow again and that is what he yearns for.. A fresh beginning and a new dawn. |

for me this song carries a lot of weight.. i feel it is about finally facing all of the things you hide away inside.. the feelings you won't let yourself feel.. and when you finally do face them, try to look them in the eye, admit and fess up to their existence, declare them your enemy.. you become superior as you let them go and champion the hate within. and trust me, as i know from experience, it is bad and wrong to have to go through it.. but good golly gosh.. it feels soo good to let go and feel. |
