| The Beach Boys – Here She Comes Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| This is easily my favourite song off this album. | |
| The Beach Boys – Lahaina Aloha Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| I think the line you have as "I don't know what way you pull this shines" may be "Out on the water when the full moon shines". | |
| Elliott Smith – King's Crossing Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| The album was unfinished when he died, is what nopoetic is referring to. So Elliott's vision was not fully realised? | |
| The National – It Never Happened Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| They look older than they are, but they feel even older than that. | |
| The Beach Boys – You Still Believe In Me Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Pet Sounds is the greatest album of all time. SMiLE is also pretty good. But Pet Sounds is superior. | |
| OutKast – Vibrate Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| It's about wanking. | |
| The Beach Boys – Drive-In Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| What is this about "Remember only you can prevent forest fires"? | |
| Phoenix – Napoleon Says Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Aw man, I thought it was "Riding in a trench coat" and I thought that was awesome. Wish I could ride in a trench coat. | |
| The Dodos – God? Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| There could totally be good without evil. | |
| The Beach Boys – You Still Believe In Me Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Sounds like sacrilege, I'll have to give it a listen if I can. | |
| Atmosphere – Modern Man's Hustle Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| So uh... what does "the modern man must hustle" mean? | |
| Boney M. – Rivers Of Babylon Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I think the last bit of the Psalm might have killed the mood a little bit though, no? Even though it's totally awesome. |
|
| Pixies – The Holiday Song Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I don't think the connection to Tamar and Amnon is a very strong one... | |
| Samwell – What What (In The Butt) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
It all makes so much sense now! Gosh, and to think I thought it was just about anal sex. What a simpleton I am. |
|
| Grizzly Bear – He Hit Me (It Felt Like a Kiss) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Even though domestic violence is never alright. This song is fucked. | |
| The Beach Boys – Crack At Your Love Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I have this song stuck in my head. Damn you itunes shuffle! Damn you 'eighties Beach Boys! |
|
| The Beach Boys – Love Is A Woman Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This song just induces rage in me. | |
| The Beach Boys – Honkin' Down The Highway Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I find it amusing. "Her folks told me that she's lonely And she loves me only" Her parents said that? Imagine having your parents tell someone you fancied that you're lonely and that you love them? |
|
| The Beach Boys – You Still Believe In Me Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Of all the albums ever recorded, Pet Sounds is second only to SMiLE. But unlike SMiLE, every single song on Pet Sounds is nigh on perfect, and the vocals are all still so pristine and sweet. I'm conflicted. |

| The Beach Boys – Wouldn't It Be Nice Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
What a jackass. Don't let that detract from the beauty of this song, because it is a brilliant song. Get the album, listen to it closely and in it's entirety, it is perfection. |
|
| The Beach Boys – I'm Waiting For The Day Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
This entire album is genius. Brian Wilson is a god. |

| The Beach Boys – I'm Waiting For The Day Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
He doesn't shoot him. Jesus, this is Pet Sounds we're talking about here. I always interpreted this song thusly: The first part is fairly obvious, chick got hurt and he's trying to pick up the pieces and waiting for the day. It's all pretty and romantic and he's a very nice boy for being so patient. But at the same time, it'd be awfully frustrating having this girl moping about the last guy she was with. So in the second part, the first guy has come and taken back the girl, and our narrator hasn't put up much of a fight, because girlie's still in love with the first dude and if she hasn't realised that the second one is the far better guy by now then she's not worth it. I take it it's a case of a girl choosing the bad boy over the nice guy, but the narrator's damned if he's gonna sacrifice his dignity trying to keep her, and she didn't think that he'd give up so easily because he is in love with her, but he's gotta keep his self-respect. |

| The Smiths – I Don't Owe You Anything Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
One impression I get from this song, is that it describes a situation that is nothing new to either party (they're familiar with each other). As implied by You knew very well What was coming next and you owe me something and "I don't want to go out tonight" (this particular night) Morrissey shows up at this person's place quite often, yesno? He takes him or her out and gets them drunk and sleeps with them, and it happens so often that by this point they owe him the sex, they can't just go changing the way things have always worked. But I'm not quite sure what to make of: "You should never go to them Let them come to you Just like I do" Other than that Morrissey considers himself superior to this person. |

| The Smiths – Golden Lights Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
It's just crap. DELETE. |
|
| The Smiths – Death at One's Elbow Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| He has been wronged by this Glenn fellow and the frustration has rendered him hateful in a way he can't deal with, so he'd rather off himself. | |
| The Smiths – Jeane Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
The main riff is very, very familiar to my ears. And I'm not talking about a cover. But I can't name the song this reminds me of just yet. Anyone else got any idea? It's really bugging me. |
|
| The Smiths – I Want the One I Can't Have Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
This song makes it rather difficult to deny Morrissey's queersexuality, doesn't it? Still, I maintain that until the man specifically states his orientation, all this speculation is highly disrespectful. Not that I've ever deigned to show respect for anyone, musical inspiration or no. You know what's all over his face? SEMEN. Because he's GAY. Or bisexual, wouldn't that explain somewhat? Wishful thinking... |
