Like others have said, In the book of Proverbs it relates to she as "she" and "her" but in Proverbs Chapter 5 it directly relates to Adultery. So my opinion is that it is about a person who is suffering from Temptation of Sin and of Sin itself. and he is really struggling to stop it. Most likely these sins are adultery. "denial; a repetitive trait. " maybe perhaps he denied christ to perform sin "betrayel; a repetitive trait. " stating that he betrayed god when he said he will stop this sin, but couldnt resist temptation "lay her to rest." relating to Hebrews 2:18 "Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted" he is asking christ to stop him from temptation of sin "falling down a cold staircase. and persistently i darken my shadow to cover up regret " he is falling away from god because of embarressment of his sin, he feels guilty and hasnt been being christ-like which relates back to "denial; a repitive trait" |
